The key to becoming a top rated seller is customer service.  There’s no way to get good ratings without good feedback and the only way to get that good feedback is to make sure your customers are satisfied.  In the world of on-line commerce the two main things to keep in mind for your customers are fast and quick.  Quick shipments and fast responses are what today’s e-shoppers expect and if you cut too many corners the feedback and ratings you get will suffer for it.  Typically someone shopping on-line expects that if they buy something in the morning it will be in the mail by that evening.  If they haven’t gotten some sort of shipping confirmation email by the next business day they are going to start to get impatient.  This doesn’t mean that you absolutely must get everything out on the same day but waiting more than one or two days to get a package out is courting a negative rating.  The other half of that equation is that if a customer sends an email they expect a quick reply.  When they are wondering when a package is going to get to them you can keep them happy by giving them a quick reply to that question even if the answer is a little later than they thought it might be the added attention keeps them satisfied.

Some tips on making sure that this holiday season you can have a successful eBay selling experience. First make sure that you realize that this is a busy time of year for all sellers. That means you need to make you budget your time. Do not over book yourself or you are heading for disaster. There are only so many hours in a day and you must recognize that fact. Once you have a good idea of how much time you are going to be spending prepare yourself and take stock of your inventory. Not just merchandise you are selling but also shipping supplies and package material as well. If you have stock on hand but no box to ship it in you might as well not have that stock in the first place. Lastly do some research to make sure you understand how the holidays impact the carriers you use to ship. Make certain that you recognize how long it will take to get your package to your buyer and understand expedited shipping. Odds are good that last minute on-line shoppers are going to be asking you questions about it.
